For more information, please contact KTEC PIPELINE at info@ktecpipeline.com.

"This program is the most comprehensive of its kind in the country; Kansans are fortunate to have access to this jump-start for their up and coming businesses."
Rob Adams
Entrepreneur, Venture Capitalist

“It’s a unique program for Kansas, and I think actually for the county. It’s a great way bringing to entrepreneurs the kind of support they need.”
Dr. Ali Andalibi
National Institutes of Health

“PIPELINE provided me with a business understanding that complements my scientific background. All topics covered were extremely helpful; however, the one that made the biggest impact on me was the market assessment and validation – ensuring that your solution is a ‘have-to-have’ as opposed to a ‘nice-to-have.’”
Olga Koper
Charter Class Innovator
Chief Technology Officer, NanoScale Corporation

“PIPELINE has helped me identify and develop the tools I would need to be a successful entrepreneur. Not only has it given me the tactical skills I would need to launch and grow a company, but it has also introduced me to a vast network of people that I can now call on for advice, insight and assistance.”
Toby Rush
Charter Class Innovator
President, Rush Tracking Systems

The 2009 application deadline has passed.

The KTEC PIPELINE is the nation's premier state-sponsored technology entrepreneur fellowship/venture development program. PIPELINE is an innovative program designed to identify high potential technology entrepreneurs, match them with best-in-class training, resources and mentors and facilitate their dynamic growth in Kansas.

Goal:
The KTEC PIPELINE is a first of its kind program in the United States - designed to identify the state’s best and brightest technology entrepreneurial talent and surround them with the resources, education, networks and “straight talk” that will increase their probability of success. The program works with the participants to enhance the creation and growth of high impact technology business in Kansas – with a special focus on ventures designed to scale and grow into large businesses with positive impact on our Kansas economy.

The KTEC PIPELINE is designed to help entrepreneurs meet the challenges they face with the skills, education and networks that can assist them over their entire career in Kansas.

Details:
Stipend - Each Innovator is provided a stipend of $20,000 for the year. These funds are designed to assist in advancing ventures, subsidizing time spent away at modules, and providing a source of funds to pursue projects and research uncovered during the KTEC PIPELINE process.

Modules - The year in the KTEC PIPELINE requires each Innovator to participate in four three-day modules (seminars) with fellow Innovators to cover material relevant to your venture.

Additionally, the KTEC PIPELINE may make available “field trips” to conferences, meetings and events inside and outside of the state of Kansas that add value to your fellowship. These trips are based on their relevance to the Innovators involved in the program and will be scheduled after the Innovators are selected and schedules for conferences are available.

Working the Program Between Modules – Modules, although intense, visible and exciting are only part of the program. Work between these events is equally important and mandatory for inclusion in the program. You can expect a minimum of five days of work that will be needed to be completed between modules.

Class Networking - Working with the rest of the class is also critical to the program. Part of the “magic” of a class of entrepreneurs is leveraging the group for support, feedback, and networking. Each Innovator will be expected to participate in group events with their peer Innovators to support this class dynamic – and the program.

Duration of the PIPELINE - The program lasts for one calendar year and begins in January 2009. In addition to the quarterly seminars and independent work assignments, there is an orientation at the beginning of the calendar year, as well as a graduation event at the end of the program year.

Favorable candidates will likely have the following characteristics:

Currently running or contemplating a technology-oriented business.
