Dan Melton, Ph.D., MPA is the Founder and Team Chief for NonProfit Technologies LLC, located in the Kansas City area. NonProfit Technologies is a for-profit company that develops web-driven products and solutions to improve the effectiveness, cost-savings or impact of public-sector organizations. As a public-minded, Generation Net, tech head, Dan brings a unique hybrid of business, web development and public sector experience to his partners and customers.
Prior to starting NonProfit Technologies, Dan has been in the roles of Executive Director, Development Director, and Marketing Director for Kansas City nonprofits. Over the past eight years, Dan led the concept-development, fundraising and implementation of cutting-edge technology projects for Kansas City and national nonprofits. One of these projects includes Chatreach, a web 2.0 application that enables outreach workers to dramatically increase their reach through social networking websites.
Dan received his bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science, his masters in Public Administration and doctorate in Public Affairs and Economics from the Henry Bloch School of Business and Public Administration at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
He is the incoming Chair of the Kansas City Chapter of the American Society for Public Administrators and an active member in the Council on Philanthropy.
