Scott Deeter led the startup and development of several successful products and businesses for Cargill and Koch Industries. At Cargill, Deeter led the startup and commercialization of a plant-made biologics business unit that commercialized human health products derived from soybeans. He formed and led a strategic alliance between Cargill and F. Hoffmann-La Roche that commercialized several plant-made biologics. Deeter served as President and Chief Executive Officer of CyberCrop, a venture-backed software company. Deeter started his career in the Technology and Life Sciences Group of Salomon Brothers, a Wall Street Investment Bank that is now part of Citigroup.
Deeter earned a BS in Economics from the University of Kansas, an MBA from University of Chicago and an MS in Economics from London School of Economics. He is a board member of the Biotechnology Industry Organization’s (BIO) Food and Agriculture Section Governing Board and Chairman of BIO’s Emerging Plant Technologies Policy Committee. He is a board member of Edge Integration, Altergy Systems and a member of the American Council on Germany.
